'Broad City' Nail Wraps? Um, Yes Please

by Erin Mayer

Even if you're a bit nail-art phobic (like yours truly), you'll still get excited about these stickers. Emerging Thoughts' music- and television-themed nail decals are everything your '90s-loving heart needs. The website offers different nail packages that range from total throwback to totally current. Imagine wearing everything from Kurt Cobain strumming his guitar to Orange Is the New Black characters on your fingertips. I don't think you're ready for how freaking cute your future manicures will be.

Artist Sara M. Lyons has created a whole line of nail decals decorated with her quirky illustrations, which are now being sold on Emerging Thoughts for $8 to $11 a pop. Her first design for the site was the "Totally '90s" set, which is still available so I strongly encourage you to run out and grab one (or 20) for yourself and everyone you know. Then watch as your #TBT game becomes off the charts. References include: the aforementioned Kurt Cobain, a Gameboy, Will Smith, the Spice Girls, a sunflower, the MTV logo, Cher Horowitz, a ying/yang sign, Angela Chase from My So-Called Life, Tia Mowry and Tamera Mowry, and more.

Now a slew of other Lyons' nail packages have hit the site — 12 in total — all of which riff off of music and television obsessions of the past and present. Wear your love for Britney Spears, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Dolly Parton, Girls, Nicki Minaj, The Golden Girls, Orange Is the New Black, Rihanna, Parks and Recreation, and old-school Stevie Nicks on your sleeve. Check out the selections below.

Now Sara M. Lyons is already a perfect goddess and we thank her so hard for bringing our fave TV shows and musicians to life with her gorgeous illustrations. But who would I be if I didn't offer a few suggestions for future nail decals? After all, there are so many amazing pop-culture references I'd love to see represented, and Lyons has already proven herself more than worthy of bringing them to life on our nail beds. Here are just seven.

1. Heathers

I would actually kill for a set of Heathers decals illustrated by Lyons. She is already releasing a print with drawings of the Heathers and Veronica so all she would need to do is adapt them to nail-size and add a croquet mallet, a bottle of Draino, an eye patch, and a red scrunchie.

2. Taylor Swift

Because obviously.

3. '90s Melissa Joan Hart

This set would include motifs from both of Hart's classic '90s televisions shows, Clarissa Explains it All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. Who doesn't want a drawing of Salem curled up on their thumb?

4. Are You Afraid of the Dark?

Just in time for Halloween.

5. The Great Gatsby

Art Deco elements, the eyes of Dr. T.J. Eckleberg, the green light... I could go on.

6. Blake Lively's baby bump

More of a social commentary on how gross the term "baby bump" is.

7. Courtney Love wearing a flower crown

Because if we have a Kurt nail decal, we need a Courtney nail decal to match. Maybe we'll see it in the "Totally '90s Redux" package.
