Rep. Steve King's Office Experiences "Alien" Invasion

by Lane Florsheim

Rep. King, the House's leading immigration hawk, sponsored a measure to defund Obama's 2012 executive action giving young, unauthorized immigrants without a criminal record relief from deportation and a work permit if they attend or graduate high school. The amendment passed out of the House last week, but will almost certainly be rejected in Senate.

The "illegal aliens" in question were high school students who were dressed in caps and gowns and carrying signs that read "Future Doctor," "Future Teacher," and other professions in order to protest Rep. King's stance.

Julieta Garibay, one of the protest's leaders, said the students were there to remind Rep. King, "We are here to contribute to the country we love."
