A lot of the time, when politicians do pretty much anything, it's scary. Except, ironically, when it comes to the scariest time of the year: ol' Hallow's Eve. It turns out, when politicians dress up for Halloween, it's not scary at all. In fact, it's pretty damn funny. Mayor de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray as Grecian War Gods
Earlier this week, the Halloween party of the year was held by New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and his wife, First Lady Chirlane McCray at Gracie Mansion. They went the whole nine yards, decking out both the house and themselves. Just look at them strut their stuff as Greek gods.

This was the First couple’s Halloween costume a few years back, in 2009.
I know what you’re thinking, the President looks like his usual self, but just look at Michelle’s ears! And her leopard-print top. Gaww. Who knows what it’ll be this year?
Former Senator Chuck Hagel as Former Senator Joe Biden
This has to be one of my favorite Halloween costumes ever. Back in 2007, then-Senator Chuck Hagel dressed up as then-Senator Joe Biden. So here he is, saying hi to Joe Biden, dressed as Joe Biden. Epic.

Weren’t convinced by the last one? These are even better costumes than the ones you’d see at Disneyland. And this is back in ‘85. You couldn’t even online order that stuff. They’ve also done werewolves and full-body mummies in other years.

Ok, so, not strictly a politician. But he gets on here for pure adorableness: Gibbs and his son dressed up as Darth Vader and Buzz Lightyear for the Obamas’ Halloween bash in 2009. Totally what I’ll do, when I have a kid (and am invited to the White House).
