It Wasn't Raining $$$ During Tatum's Stripper Days

It's no secret that Channing Tatum used to be a stripper. We know he has all kinds of moves, including dancing and stripping, which we've, thankfully, seen in Step Up and Magic Mike. Well, the actor recently chatted about his former days of dancing naked and let me tell you, the amount of money he made is shockingly low. You will be shocked, shocked I tell you, once you hear how much he earned for his stripping skills.

In the Nov. 14 issue of The Hollywood Reporter, Tatum revealed on a "good night" he would pocket $150. So what about a "bad night?" About $70 or even $50. WHAT? Tatum is absolutely right in saying, "Not as much as you think." I am stunned. I understand back during his days of taking off his clothes (he started stripping at 19), he wasn't the Tatum we all know and drool over today, but have you seen him dance? That's some natural talent. I'd like to say, if I would have ever entered a strip club where Tatum happened to be working, I would've gave him quite a nice tip — and would've requested lots of photos.

In the end, I guess it doesn't matter, seeing as he's making money off of his past. Ladies and men flocked to theaters just to see Tatum and all of the other hunky men take off their clothes in Magic Mike. Now, we're getting a sequel, titled Magic Mike XXL, which tells the story of Mike on a road trip going to a stripper convention (yes, that's a real thing). You guessed it, Tatum also attended one of these in the late '90s, "I have no idea why it's called a convention. The 'convention' was not strippers peddling stripper technology or anything like that. It was just a big show with 50 to 70 strippers and 2,000 to 3,000 women. It was crazy. They attacked me every night."

Um, yeah, no surprise there.
