7 Celebrity Kids with Fairytale-Worthy Names

by Daniela Cabrera

Eeeee! Well, according to Us Weekly one of my favorite Hollywood couples, the adorable Rachel Bilson and mega babe Hayden Christensen, have reportedly welcomed their first child together! Although we haven't gotten official notice of the news from the parents — which is cool since they've got more important things on their hands, literally — the infamous "multiple sources" have confirmed that the baby girl is here and that her name is Briar Rose. So, excuse me while I sigh into eternity because that name is just so precious and fitting for this handsome couple of parents. Why you ask? Well, Bilson has always reminded me of a petite Tinkerbell sort of character and Christensen as a towering and dashing, princely hunk of man.

OK, so why do I keep rambling on about princesses and princes? Well, Us Weekly points out that the name Briar Rose is a nod to the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty, in which the three protective fairies give Princess Aurora that name in order to protect her from Maleficent. The name is very cute and actually pretty tame in the realm of celebrity baby names, which have been reaching really scary levels of yikes in the past few years (Pilot Inspektor, anyone?) This announcement got me searching to see if any other celebs have given their babies names fit for a fairytale or Disney film, whether they intended it or not.

Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom

Miranda Kerr told an Australian publication that she named her son with Orlando Bloom after an ex-boyfriend, Christopher, who was killed in a car accident when they were teenagers and made it her son's middle name to honor his memory. I think Rapunzel's boo, Flynn Rider from Tangled, would approve.

Rainbow Aurora Rotella

Rainbow Aurora is the first born daughter of Girls Next Door star Holly Madison and Pasquale Rotella. Madison has defended the interesting choice in name, writing on her blog in 2013, "I have always loved the name Rainbow. There was a girl in my school a few years younger than me named Rainbow and I was so envious of her name because it was so pretty and unusual." Aurora is also the real name of Sleeping Beauty so maybe Briar Rose and her can play dress up?

Tallulah Belle Willis

Sooo, Belle from Beauty and the Beast is definitely my favorite Disney character of all time and when I was in elementary school my ~play name~ would always be Belle or Isabelle because I loved the movie that much. Bruce Willis and Demi Moore certainly have some interesting baby names under their belt (Scout, Rumer) but I think Tallulah Belle rolls off the tongue quite easily. I can definitely see this as a princess name in the future.

Bronx Mowgli Wentz

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that parents Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz are big Disney fans. Simpson celebrated her first baby with a Winnie the Pooh themed baby shower and, of course, Mowgli is the name of the young boy from the Rudyard Kipling book turned Disney classic, The Jungle Book. And I think we all know where the name Bronx comes from.

Fifi Trixibelle

OK, so maybe no fairytale characters have outright been named Fifi Trixibelle, but there's no way that Bob Geldof and Paula Yates were not inspired by Cinderella's evil step-sisters (Drizella and Anastasia) or a yappy, annoying poodle owned by a mysterious villain like Cruella de Vil.

Honorary Mention: Ever Gabo Jovavich

Well, every fairy tale ends happily ever after, right? Please, humor me. At least Milla Jovovich and Paul Anderson made a really cute baby!
