It sounds like Peeta wants to play a real life type of Hunger Games, but this time involving food, animals, and cannibalism. Josh Hutcherson is down to try human flesh. First, that's gross. Second, say whaaaat? In an interview with British GQ, Hutcherson admitted that he's curious about the taste of people. Seriously.
As he told the magazine,
I don't want somebody to die for me to eat them. However, if someone happened to die, from natural causes and it was not so taboo... I'm curious. I want to know what it tastes like. Like you want to know what a pigeon tastes like, you know, except a human. They're all animals.
Pretty sure I don't want to know what a pigeon or a human tastes like. With that said, the actor kind of has a good point, although he presents it in a strange manner. What is the big difference between eating an animal vs. eating a human? We're both living creatures. We both have organs. We both have feelings. So, why is cannibalism looked down upon? Hannibal Lecter has been wondering that very same thing for years. This sounds like a topic for PETA and animal activists to discuss. They'd probably punish the Hunger Games: Mockingjay actor for saying such nonsense, but also applaud him for bringing up a good point.
As someone who doesn't eat animals, I can see where he's coming from. Now, I'd probably make a more traditional statement advocating my meat-free diet and lifestyle, but, hey, if he gets people talking, I'm down.
