Terrible Story Gives New Meaning to "Cold Feet"

In a weird and tragic case of marital bliss turned sour, a Montana woman has been charged with killing her new husband.

The honeymoon didn't last long for 25-year-old Cody Lee Johnson and his new bride, 22-year-old Jordan Linn Graham. On Monday, Graham was charged with pushing Johnson off of a cliff in Glacier National Park during an argument. The two had been married for just one week.

According to official documents, Graham was having second thoughts about the marriage. She told the Federal Bureau of Investigation that the two were walking along a trail in the park and as she turned to walk away, Johnson grabbed her arm. According to an affidavit, she removed his hand and then "due to her anger, she pushed Johnson with both hands in the back, and as a result, he fell face first off the cliff."

Johnson was reported missing when he didn't show up for work on July 8. His wife initially told investigators that her husband left the house on July 7 with a friend in a dark colored car with Washington state plates.

Graham sent texts to a friend telling them she planned on talking to her husband about her hesitation about the marriage. The friend, identified as "K.M." told her that she would "pray for you guys." In response Graham said: "But dead serious if u [sic] don't hear from me at all again tonight, something happened."

Graham sent an email to another friend saying that her husband had left with three friends, fell during a hike, and died. One day later, she told park rangers that she had spotted Johnson's body. In a July 16 interview, the new bride admitted to lying about her husband's death.

Tracy Maness, a friend of Johnson's told media, "She kept continuing to lie, she kept changing her story...She showed no grief and she would not speak to Cody’s mother."

Graham faces second-degree murder charges.
