"Black Widow" May Not Grace the AMAs

It's been quite a year for Rita Ora. In 2012, she rocked the U.K. music charts with three No. 1 singles and 2014 gave her a fourth No. 1 — "I Will Never Let You Down," written and produced by Ora's then-boyfriend Calvin Harris. The tune didn't let her down at all, becoming a worldwide hit and even topping the U.S. Hot Dance Club Songs chart — but the relationship with the electronic dance music DJ ultimately did, ending in a bitter breakup. But life and love goes on, right? The British singer has an ubiquitous new smash hit song with rapper Iggy Azalea, "Black Widow," but will Ora join Azalea to sing it at the American Music Awards, airing live on Sunday night on ABC? It's entirely possible, but does't sound likely

Ora has accompanied the Aussie rapper to perform "Black Widow" at the MTV Video Music Awards earlier this year and people couldn't stop talking about how sexy it was. But according to Billboard and Azalea's Twitter, her main performance will be "Booty" with Jennifer Lopez. Is this a case of too many hits, so little time for the sultry rapper? Even if Ora doesn't take the stage with Azalea Sunday night, the 23-year-old singer still had quite a year in 2014 and here are some more reasons why.

Calvin Harris Relationship

Even though the duo didn't end on the best of terms, being associated with one of the hottest DJs around hasn't hurt her career at all. Ora did get a popular song out of the affair and some lovey-dovey press. "He got something out of me that I never thought I had," Ora told Elle UK. "Yes, like falling in love. I just didn't think I had it. I'd never experienced it before. And I was just like in the wilderness, thinking, 'Will it ever happen?'"

The couple began dating in May 2013 and split in June of this year. In August, Ora was supposed to sing the hit jam at the Teen Choice Awards, but Harris halted it since it's technically his song. Ouch.

Funny or Die Walk-Off

In addition to music, Ora has branched out into acting in on-screen performances. She shows off her sense of humor in a Funny or Die skit called, "Girl You Better Walk," in which the Brit has a walk-off with Korean pop star HyunA. They battle it out with the Cake Walk, Angry Walk, and our favorite, Late Night Walking to Your Car in a Bad Neighborhood Walk. Who wins? You'll have to watch to find out.

Fifty Shades of Grey

Ora originally approached the producers of the highly-anticipated movie hoping to sing a song on the soundtrack. Instead, she ended up with something even better: A small on-screen role as the infamous Christian Grey's sister Mia. And she definitely enjoyed the experience on set of the film, which opens in February.

“Doing the movie was probably one of the best things ever, being in Vancouver, getting out of the music and just making it work was really good,” she told MTV. “I did like eight auditions, so I thought I would never get it. It was incredible that it worked out.”

Sounds like we'll see more of Ora in 2015.
