Unanswered Questions From 'Mockingjay — Part 1'

Warning: spoilers ahead. Whether you read the book trilogy or not, the wait for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1 was torture. In the second-to-last film of the series, Katniss & Co. battled the Capitol instead of each other as they tried to save Peeta and Johanna from President Snow and rallied the districts to rebel against the government.

Considering that the final installment, Mockingjay — Part 2, won't hit theaters until November 20, 2015, we have a long wait to find out what happens next. And in turn, I have so many questions about what the heck happened during the movie and what's next. Notably, this is coming from someone who has read the books, but no book spoilers ahead — just ones from the movie. Read at your own risk.

Why end Part 1 there? That was a weird place to cut off in the book for the first movie.
Why was there not even a cliffhanger at the end?
Why was Part 1 just scenes of everyone walking around?
Why did Jennifer Lawrence say she can't sing? Because girl can sing.
What if "Blank Space" was the first song to come to her head instead of that one about a hanging tree?
Is this really a good song for the rebellion? "Necklace of hope" doesn't fix things, Plutarch.
Why are none of the songs from the soundtrack ever actually in the movies? Too distracting?
Why does Katniss treat Gale like chopped liver?
Does she even really love Peeta, or is he basically just like her brother?

What is Gale's job? He saved people from 12 and then rescues Peeta...
If Gale was with Prim when she was rescuing Buttercup, couldn't he have radioed someone to tell Katniss?
Also why did it take a full 10 minutes for her to rescue Buttercup? She heard the countdown.
Why were there only three action scenes in the whole movie?
How did Peeta see Katniss when she interrupted the broadcast? Was there a monitor on?
Why didn't he scream when he saw her then?
Was Snow slowly drugging Peeta or just starving him?
Why did skinny Peeta look just like Bella in the last Twilight movie?
How could Peeta warn Katniss if he had so much trackerjacker venom in him?
Why did Snow not use Johanna too? She was in one scene the whole movie.
Why was her head shaved?
How did Annie have a full head of beautiful red hair? Did they just let her chill in the Capitol?
Does anyone know that Finnick was the Capitol's prostitute?
What other sexy victors were used as gifts from Snow?
WAS HAYMITCH A PROSTITUTE?
Did Snow just do this to men, or to women too? Not OK either way.

Why did they want Katniss so perfectly coiffed for that propaganda ad anyway?
What does Effie's hair look like without wigs?
How was Effie sewing herself a new outfit? Did she save that fabric when she was rescued?
Couldn't they make Gale the star of some ads? His District 12 story was heartbreaking.
Why did no one else fight back when District 8 was bombed?
Why is Katniss such an ugly crier?
How did they manage to save all of Cinna's outfits for Katniss?
Why are Snow's roses like a creepy version of The Bachelorette? Why won't they die?
How did those guys climb up trees so fast? And how the explosions not reach them?
What language do the Avox speak? Sign language?
When will they start making wearable cameras like that? HD Google Glass?
How did the Mockingjay survive in District 12 after everything was torched?
How did animals survive on District 13 after they were bombed?
Did the Capitol not check on 13 this whole time?
Why is 13's chant so weird? It sounds like some fraternity bros: "ooh-ha-ooh-ha-ooh-ha-ha."
