Will Ariana Grande's New Song Be a Xmas Classic?

by Emma Goddard

Christmas is, without a doubt, my all-time favorite holiday. From decorating the tree to watching The Santa Clause over and over again with hot cocoa in hand, it truly is the most wonderful time of the year. However, even with the eggnog and tacky light tours, my favorite part of the holiday is actually listening to Christmas music (I’m guilty for listening to Christmas tunes as early as November). So of course, it didn’t take me long to notice that Republic Records and Ariana Grande released a teaser of her upcoming Christmas single, Santa Tell Me, on Instagram on Friday.

As a new and original song to celebrate Kris Kringle’s holiday, Grande's single questions whether or not we should put our faith in Santa Claus, with lyrics like, "Santa tell me if you're really there/Don't make me fall in love again if you won't be here next year."

Although from what I've heard, Santa Tell Me is undeniably catchy, I wonder how Grande's song, which debuts on Monday, Nov. 24, will compare to all the beloved Christmas classics out there. Considering Grande has a history releasing hit holiday songs, like 2013's "Last Christmas" (which was, funnily enough, released around this same time last year!), I'm sure she won't have any problems.
