The Teaser For 'Jurassic World' Is Finally Here

by Emma Goddard

Apparently, Colin Trevorrow and the team behind Jurassic World are all about keeping us on the edge of our seats with one cryptic teaser trailer after another. Although the first teaser released to YouTube merely featured a cup of water sitting on a dashboard — reminiscent of past movies — it appears that Universal Pictures has officially released a Jurassic World teaser which actually features dinosaurs and, wait for it, Chris Pratt in it. Hallelujah!

Though the teaser is only 20 seconds long and still doesn’t offer much of a plot, it makes me all the more excited for the full trailer to be released during football at 9 p.m. EST on Thanksgiving Day. Hell if I care about football though (sorry, football fans) or even Thanksgiving turkey. I’m way more excited about seeing what’s in store for Jurassic Park’s successor. After all, it’s been 21 years since the first movie premiered (I was only one year old then!) and 13 years since Jurassic Park III. Basically, it’s been way too long since we’ve had a good dinosaur movie, and I cannot wait to see what happens this time around on Isla Nublar.

Unfortunately, the video is pretty vague and only displays a more positive side of the island, with scenes of tourists in more high tech transportation visiting the theme park alongside gentle dinosaurs. Aside from two serious looks between Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard’s characters during one scene, the teaser doesn’t reveal any sort of action and doesn’t even have dialogue.

I guess I couldn’t have expected Universal to disclose what type of chaos might ensue or what carnivorous dinosaurs we can expect this time however, so I’m just glad that the trailer is just around the corner. As someone who rarely likes sequels to movies, I’ve actually been pretty pleased with all three Jurassic Park films and am hoping that Jurassic World really knocks it out of the park.
