Pink Gets a Huge Honor

For all the shitty news going on in the world today, let's take some time out to really appreciate some of the better, good news floating around today. Like this piece from USA Today, which states that Billboard has named P!nk their 2013 woman of the year, following her most recent number one single on Billboard's Hot 100, "Just Give Me a Reason (ft./ Nate Reuss)" — her fourth single in total to reach that spot. Her most recent album, "The Truth About Love," also went to number one on the Billboard charts, which was a first for her.

"I was absolutely shocked and surprised to hear that Billboard named me Woman of the Year," P!nk told Billboard in a statement. "It's been an incredible year and I feel so grateful to radio for sticking by me, and to the fans and friends and all of the incredible talent that I was fortunate enough to work with for this album."

It's hard to deny that "Just Give Me a Reason" is a catchy song, and P!nk has been around forever producing tons of radio-friendly hits, so this is a pretty well-deserved honor.

Previous recipients of this award have included Katy Perry, Taylor Swift, and the queen of the world, Béyonce.
