Karl And Cara Pull A 'Nutcracker'

by Rosie Narasaki

I about died when I saw these two on my Instagram feed this morning. All dolled up for the Chanel Métiers d'Art, Cara Delevingne and Karl Lagerfeld looked just like another famous duo. Who? I'll give you a hint: He's dark and mysterious, wears an eye patch, and makes the most innovatively beautiful gifts around. She's an adventurous young lass who has a penchant for sweets. I mean, they're totally Clara and Herr Drosselmeyer, right?

After closing the runway show hand-in-hand with none other than Kendall Jenner, Delevingne made the rounds with Lagerfeld, and boy... Clara/Cara, Drosselmeyer/Lagerfeld — it's all right there in front of us! From his slightly-villainous duds (his traditional all black ensemble, complete with his signature ponytail and shades), to her girlishly ruffled dress (complete with a giant bow), they're absolutely picture perfect for The Nutcracker.

Plus, it kind of thematically makes sense: What is Karl Lagerfeld if not for an eccentrically gifted inventor with a sinister streak? For god's sake; all he's missing is the eye patch (wait, he's not even missing that: The sunglasses are the modern eyepatch equivalent!) And who is Clara, I mean, Cara, if not for his beloved young muse with an adventurous streak? (Well, to be fair, Karl has a lot of pretty young muses with adventurous streaks, but it seems like Cara might just be the girl du jour). And to top it all off, it's all just in time for Christmas!

How much you want to bet Herr Drosselmeyer has a fluffy white cat that he spoils rotten, a la Karl and Choupette?
