Will Felicity Jones Become Dior's Next Girl?

by Rosie Narasaki

Dior has quite the impressive roster of spokeswomen. Jennifer Lawrence, Charlize Theron, Natalie Portman, Mila Kunis, and Marion Cotillard have all been known to promote various products for the brand, from fragrances, to the ever-popular, cult-classic lip products, to their classic-with-a-side-of-classic handbags. Even outside of the official faces of Dior, there are all the stars who are known for wearing the fashion house quite frequently, such as Zhang Ziyi and Emma Watson... and now, it looks like we can add Felicity Jones to the list of Dior girls.

For months now, she's been making the rounds to promote The Theory of Everything (a much-buzzed of biopic about Stephen Hawking featuring Jones as his wife, Jane), and she's been doing the job quite fashionably. Jones has stunned on just about every red carpet she's touched (her sartorial batting average is very high). And after admiring countless sumptuous red carpet gowns, sharp-edged cocktail dresses, and even a gaminesque suit or two, it became clear that she's been frequenting Dior for a lot of her biggest events, all while looking pretty darn fab. So, with that in mind, here are all of her Dior looks from the past few months of press touring.

OK, so this one isn't perfect, but I love the quirkiness afforded by the whimsical embroidery and (absolutely enormous) skirt.

Super classic. She's out Duchess-ing the Duchess of Cambridge in this crisp, white cocktail dress.

I have some notes on the hairdo, but I'm loving the odd texture of this dress.

Um, file under "fabulous." Menswear for ladies is so hard to pull off, and she just did it with amazing aplomb.

And last but not least, there was this showstopper:

Absolutely breathtaking, right? I'm getting shades of Gwyneth Paltrow's iconic 1999 Oscars dress — or, more recently, Carey Mulligan's Cannes premiere dress for The Great Gatsby. Either way: Stunning.

Oh, and here's the upshot of it all: Felicity was just nominated for a SAG Award, and she's one of the top contenders for an Academy Award — so you can bet we'll be seeing a lot more of her over the next few months. Here's hoping Dior dresses her for the Oscars in a super voluminous wedding cake number, a la Jennifer Lawrence in 2013. Ooh — or a gorgeous mermaid gown like Lupita Nyong'o wore at last year's BAFTAs!
