Jessica Alba Fights the Cold in a Cute Pink Coat

by Erin Mayer

Every winter I wonder how I could have possibly survived the winter before. As someone who is always cold, I'm pretty terrified to leave the house once temps drop below 55 degrees. Naturally, adorable outerwear is key to powering through the frosty abyss that takes place between November and March. This year, I'm taking a cue from Jessica Alba, whose dusty pink coat featured in InStyle is all sorts of adorable.

The actress was spotted leaving the JFK in New York wearing a textured pink coat with a wide collar. She tempered the sweetness of the jacket by keeping the rest of her outfit dark and edgy — printed black tunic dress, grey leggings and a gold-rimmed black hat paired with heavy duty ankle boots and Thakoon's "Cornelia" carryall. Alba finished off the look with a true winter classic — a red Starbucks coffee cup!

I've definitely been known to focus on drab neutrals when it comes to my winter coat, allowing colorful scarves and hats to do the heavy lifting, style-wise. Perhaps it's time to switch things up by opting for more dramatic outwear? Jessica Alba makes cotton-candy pink seem oh so tempting.

If you want to get the look for yourself, you're in luck — pink coats are all the rage this season. Here's an under-$300 option from Nasty Gal. The shape isn't quite the same, but it sure has a similarly rad color scheme going on.
