Her Ads Were Too Sexy for...Vegas?

by Sienna Fantozzi

When you think of Las Vegas, I'm willing to bet conservative, censored, and wholesome do not come to mind. So it's slightly odd that Las Vegas banned Heidi Klum's Sharper Image ads because they were too...sexy. Surprising, considering sexy is practically the official word of Vegas or something.

The ads, which feature Klum both topless and nude (though covered, obviously), were banned by the Las Vegas International Airport because they are "too sexy" for public display. Apparently, the holiday campaign violates Clark County's decision not to show "the female breast with less than a fully opaque covering or any portion thereof below the nipple." Okay, this all sounds rather technical to me, but basically her breasts are exposed so the airports not down with it.

Though the photos are tasteful and don't feature any full frontal nudity, I'll admit the accompanying text is slightly suggestive, with questions such as "What turns Heidi Klum on?" and "What keeps Heidi Klum busy in the shower?" At this point, I'm not entirely sure which is more bizarre — Vegas deeming something too sexy, or Sharper Image sexualizing their products.

A rep for Sharper Image responded in shock, standing by the ads as both tasteful and beautiful. I get what Vegas is trying to do, and that's great and all, but personally I feel like they should put their emphasis on what goes down in the city, and not worry about a few risqué ads in an airport. Just saying.
