Kimye Landed a Major Ad Campaign

by Erin Mayer

Well, it happened. Kimye landed a high-fashion ad campaign. That's right — Kanye West and Kim Kardashian will star in Balmain's Spring 2015 "Army of Lovers" campaign and OF COURSE they're practically making out in the preview image. Anna Wintour would be so proud!

Kim and Kanye are both huge fans of designer Olivier Rousting's wares for the storied fashion house, not to mention close personal friends of the man himself, so it's not exactly shocking that they would make an appearance in an ad for the brand one of these days. The image of the famous couple almost kissing is part of Balmain's menswear campaign for Spring and features Kim sporting a sheer and black caged top while Kanye goes the bear chest and plunging v-neck blazer route.

Here's Rousting's official statement about the choice to use Kimye, courtesy of Fashionista:

For this Menswear campaign, I wanted to capture a moment of love. Kim and Kanye are style icons and friends. It is an honour to have them in this Balmain campaign. Together, they represent love, beauty and diversity — they are the new modernity. This is more than a campaign, it expresses something beyond clothes — it is a celebration of love and friendship. This is a new statement for Balmain.

Steamy! Who actually needs to see the clothing when we have a reenactment of the "Bound 2" music video on our hands? Although this duo isn't considered the classiest by many in the fashion industry, there's no doubt that they've made some serious style waves this year, not the least of which includes using their daughter as a human paper doll. After landing a Vogue cover, what better way to kick of 2015 than with an ad campaign of their very own?
