Neil Gaiman fangirls, rejoice! For your listening pleasure, the prolific writer has two radio events available to enjoy online now, just in time for lazing merrily by the fire.
First up is Gaiman's performance of A Christmas Carol at the New York Public Library. (Did I mention he was dressed in full Dickens regalia to boot?) The NYPL houses the only surviving copy of Dickens’ personal, annotated version of the story, which the great writer himself used for live readings, like his two wildly popular New York performances in 1867. Gaiman did the legendary writer justice in his own spirited performance. And, from across the pond, the first three episodes of the Good Omens podcast are now available on the BBC Four website. The radio adaptation of Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett’s kooky End of Days tale stars Peter Serafinowicz and Mark Heap as fallen angels Crowley and Aziraphale, and each episode is structured into bite-sized 23-minute segments. The remaining three episodes in the six-episode series will become available over the next three days — so get comfy in your PJs (as if you weren’t already), and hunker down for some festive Neil Gaiman magic.
