Arya's Getting a Makeover in Season 5

by Rosie Narasaki

Ooh, there are few things better in the world than the costuming on Game of Thrones — their gorgeous, couture-inspired, fantasy-worthy duds are rivaled only by the show's twisty-turny plots and ace acting chops. The youngest Stark daughter isn't exactly known for her fashion sense, but if these sketches of Arya's season 5 Game of Thrones costume are any indication, that's about to change.

I mean, no one's forgetting Margaery's rose and thorn-embroidered wedding dress anytime soon — or Sansa's taking-charge-of-Littlefinger gown, or Dany's now-iconic cut-out dress. However, Maisie Williams, AKA Arya Stark, has been a little left out on the costuming end. As Williams's own ultra-girly style is pretty much the polar opposite of Arya's signature "disguised as a boy" look, I can definitely see where there'd be some disconnect — Sophie Turner once joked in an interview with Entertainment Weekly that Williams would probably "love to wear a dress." Well, now it looks like she'll be getting her wish — Arya seems to be getting a makeover in Braavos.

The new look features a long swinging skirt, and an adorable little jacket — according to Williams, "It’s very neutral, very plain, but clean! I have clean hair that actually moves." She also noted that the transformation was so extreme that it caused some major double takes on set — apparently, some people didn't even recognize her. Do you think you would? Let's take a look:

Pretty cool, no? Great; now I'm even more anxious for more GoT episodes. How in the world are we supposed to make it all the way to April? It's just not possible!
