Leah Thinks Scientologists Are After Her

by Lindsay Mannering

I'm going to go ahead and assume you're not watching Dancing With the Stars, but maybe there's a reason to tune in other than Bill Nye the Science Guy. Apparently, on Monday night's episode, actress Leah Remini confesses to her dance partner Tony Dovolani, that she thinks the Church of Scientology is hoping that she fails. She left the church this summer after raising questions about the missing wife of Scientology leader David Miscavige — Shelly Miscavige hasn't been seen in public since 2006. Remini, who was raised in the church, finally stepped away from religion after, you know, realizing it might not be the best organization.

To that end, it sounds like she's even a little scared of them, which seems totally normal. How could you not be a little nervous about the repercussions of leaving Scientology? At the very least, I'd be scared that J. Lo would shun me, let alone any real-life safety concerns. Anyway, she told Tony Dovolani during a filmed vignette for DTWS:

The church is looking for me to fail, so they say to their parishioners, ‘See what happens when you leave the church?'

Yikes. You guys don't think Scientology has their feelers in the corners of Dancing With the Stars, do you? You don't think there's a Scientologist janitor who's just waiting in the wings to add a little extra wax to the dance floor before Leah takes the stage, right?

What am I say. Of course they do. Leah, watch your back girl.
