8 Women Who Need to Work at Nasty Gal Now

The news broke yesterday that America's most notorious #GIRLBOSS is stepping down from her position as CEO. Nasty Gal founder and #GIRLBOSS author Sophia Amoruso announced that she was handing over responsibilities to president of the company, Sheree Waterson. While the departure was sudden, Amuroso isn't going anywhere anytime soon, and she will be staying on with the company as a "creative consultant." This makes a ton of sense — Amoruso's eye for fashion and creativity were key to the retailer's current success and to the evolution of the Nasty Gal aesthetic. So hopefully NG will continue to kill it in even bigger and better ways with Amoruso's brain power solely focused on the artsy side of the creation of amazing new clothes."Creative consultant" is one of those job titles that leaves much to the imagination. What will Amoruso's new role actually entail? Also, is there room for more than one creative consultant? Nasty Gal has its fair share of celebrity admirers: Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande and Kendall Jenner are just a few of the famous babes seen in Nasty Gal clothes recently. Just this past fall, the brand collaborated on some special edition items with Lena Dunham for her Not That Kind of Girl tour as well. So, I hope y'all are on this train of thought with me: Nasty Gal totally needs some celebrity-style-icon creative consultants, right?! With Rihanna being named the creative director of Puma, there's definitely precedent for this type of brand ambassadorship, and there are so many ladies whose style I'd love to see influence the Nasty Gal look:

1. BEYONCÉ

As if I need to justify the inclusion of Queen Bey. What with her always looking amazing thing, her fierce costumes for the On The Run tour, and having her merch game on lock — she's a shoe-in. She's already collaborating on an activewear line with TopShop, but I'd love to see Bey go all out with Nasty Gal.

2. ILANA GLAZER

Equally at home in leather skirts, studded coordinates, cutoff denim, and jumpsuits, Ilana Glazer of Broad City is pretty much already the perfect Nasty Gal customer. We'd love to see her eclectic style unleashed on a summer line of bras and crop tops that show them off.

3. ELIZABETH SPIRIDAKIS OLSON

Chances are you either don't know who she is, or she's your biggest Instagram style crush. But Elizabeth Spiridakis Olson is the perfect Nasty Gal collaborator. She has a background in design (she currently works for travel magazine Afar and wears the most bananas-in-the-best-way outfits). I'd love to see a collection or two of drapey dresses and coordinates that represent her love for a graphic print and her ability to play with proportions.

4. JESSICA WILLIAMS

Jessica Williams' spot on The Daily Show With John Stewart already makes me feel under-accomplished since we're the same age, so why not add a stint as creative consultant to the coolest cool-girl brand there is? She's got that perfect casual-chic look on lock and a more than causal love of good denim. A Nasty Gal x J. Willy denim collaboration, please!

5. ZOSIA MAMET

Easily the best-dressed of all the Girls, Mamet always has that quintessential Nasty Gal look: Young, fresh, and fun. Her super on-trend grey hair shows she's not afraid of taking risks, which would make her the perfect creative consultant. I can just imagine the line of jumpsuits and moto jackets she'd launch.

6. MINDY KALING

If you follow her on Instagram, you know homegirl does not play when it comes to her clothing and accessories. Fun, quirky, and bright, Kaling wouldn't be afraid of getting playful and having some fun with Nasty Gal's designs. So I'd love to see her design/curate an accessories collection for the brand.

7. HAIM

I mean, just look at them! These three talented rocker babes are just pure style-spiration. Their affinity for pairing boots and leather/denim jackets with feminine cuts for a balanced and totally hip look makes them prime candidates. Also: Their sunglasses game is always so very strong. HAIM sisters: Please design some boots and shades, then shut up and take my money.

8. TESS MUNSTER

Nasty Gal has so far not responded to the pleas of fellow plus-size babes asking for a collection in our size. What better way to embrace the plus customers waiting to shell out for Nasty Gal's signature aesthetic than with a super famous plus model?
