Teresa's Family Skipped Their First Visit

by Caitlyn Callegari

Prison isn't a cakewalk for anyone, but being incarcerated and also being in the public eye may be a sentence in its own. Despite the stress of her high-profile fall from grace, E! Online reports that Teresa Giudice is doing "great" in prison. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star has only been in jail for a little over a week, but Giudice is already proving that the promises she made about her children while still free are being upheld. One of her main gripes about going away was how the sentence would affect her four daughters. It's an understandable fear considering the girls' ages and that they'll be away from both their father and mother for an extended period of time over the next four years.

Case in point, as E! Online relays, the Giudice girls were supposed to visit their mother last weekend, but that did not go as planned. "According to a source, the reality star's four daughters had previously scheduled activities and Teresa didn't want them to have to change anything," the publication says. E! also quotes their source as saying, "It's important to Teresa that their lives continue as normally and uninterrupted as possible." It's a positive indicator that Giudice's head is in a good place, and that she's aptly putting her children before her own wants and needs.

The small sacrifice the Fabulicious! author made this weekend is in tune with what she said when she went on Watch What Happens Live prior to her sentence and explained, "I just think about my daughters. That's all I think about. I just want to make sure that my daughters are OK."

And that isn't the only instance, either. She's frequently mentioned her concern for her kids, and in a statement to Hollywood Life through her lawyer back in March 2014, she said, "I am heartbroken that this is affecting my family — especially my four young daughters, who mean more to me than anything in the world."

While this is undoubtedly a tumultuous time for everyone involved, at least Giudice is a woman of her word when it comes to her family. On a lighter note, E! Online's source said, "The visit will most likely happen this coming weekend." Hopefully, the girls' schedules will go uninterrupted and they'll get a chance to see their mother, putting the family at ease.
