Lena Reacts to that 'Girl's Parody

by Lindsay Mannering

During the Season 39 premiere of Saturday Night Live, Tina Fey's pre-taped Girls parody was definitely the stand out — new cast member Noel Wells did an amazing impersonation of Hannah. It was so good, in fact, it elicited a response from the stars. Mindy Kaling tweeted a photo of Lena Dunham watching SNL — the pic showed Dunham cuddled on a couch, smiling as her new, fake cast member Blerta dolled out sage advice to Shoshannah, Jessa, and Marnie.

Kaling shared the photo of Dunham on Twitter, and wrote, "Watching @lenadunham enjoy Blerta on #snl's #girls in my living room," during the live show.

And Dunham, too, tweeted her thoughts on the parody. She wrote: "The SNL parody of Girls was a true honor," and later added, "Very excited about the current lineup of SNL ladies. They are funny like whoa."

We couldn't agree with Dunham more — Wells' on point impression of Hannah was so good, we can't wait to see what else she has up her sleeve. But hey, even if she did her Hannah impression every week, we're pretty sure it would take at least few years to get old.

The only thing better than the skit itself is probably the revelation that Mindy Kaling and Lena Dunham hang out in sweats on Saturday nights and watch SNL. Add to that the fact that Kaling serves her guests bottled water and keeps an unwrapped gift on her coffee table and the intrigue-level can't stop, won't stop.

We're free next Saturday, Mindy! We'll bring the water.

Here's the skit, in case you missed it:
