There are few things that will get me on a NYC subway in January. I didn't know it before, but apparently all-natural soaps inspired by the zodiac elements are definitely one reason. Fresh's Zodiac Sign Soap collection just launched for 2015, and the release party had me braving the pre-blizzard elements to head into the city. You've probably heard of Fresh because of their amazing Sugar Lip Balms, but you might not know that the brand started with just a bar of soap made from natural ingredients. Since Fresh was my original inspiration for all-natural beauty, I'm always curious to see their new product launches... and of course, if it's possible to make a similar product in my own home. Come on, copying is the best form of flattery!
The beauty isn't just in the soap. As usual, Fresh's minimal, sleek packaging is impressive and classy — aka, it'll look super good on your bathroom sink. The line of 12 soaps are all grouped by element, and each element has a unique scent, color scheme, and stone. In fact, the soaps are stunningly good looking almost to a fault — I don't want to use the soap because it's too beautiful and it has my sign, Sagittarius, on top (don't worry, I tested samples at the launch event for this post). I'm still considering how to reuse the wrapping if I do give into logic and, you know, actually use my personal zodiac soap. With mercury in retrograde, it's the perfect time to add a little extra astrology into your life — so here's the lowdown on all the zodiac oval soaps.
Fire Signs (Aires, Leo, and Sagittarius)
This fiery lot has a blood orange wrapping with red and orange detail to match all the passion of Aires, Leos, and Sagittarius'. The soap itself is Mangosteen, made from succulent nectarines, while the stone is tiger's eye.
Water Signs (Cancer, Pisces, and Scorpio)
These water signs have a blue color scheme with turquoise and aqua to go with a subtle floral blend of scents called waterlilly. The stone on top of these soaps is fluorite.
Air Signs (Gemina, Libra, and Aquarius)
The scent for air signs is Verbena, a delicious citrus smell for our great thinkers with a layer of blues and grays on their packaging and an aventurine stone.
Earth Signs (Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn)
Our practical signs have an olive and brown color scheme on their sugar-scented soap and a quartz stone right in the center.
