Mindy Kaling's Sundance Style Was On Point

by Jodie Layne

Patron saint of girly girls everywhere and head bitch in charge, Mindy Kaling was in Park City, Utah this weekend for the Sundance Film Festival — where she spoke alongside Kristen Wiig and Jenji Kohan on a panel called "Power of Story: Serious Ladies." Many truth bombs were dropped during the panel, including Lena Dunham's comments on campus sexual assault, and it was truly exciting to watch these four women talking about their experiences in the TV and film industries. It was also, obviously, pretty great to see their outfits — as many of the audience members yelling out compliments before the panel began can attest to. Hey, you can be powerful, creative, and well-dressed! Wiig looked chic and a bit romantic in a whimsically printed A-line skirt; Kohan rocked some incredible, colorful moon-boot-style kicks; and Mindy killed it in a printed pant, ankle boots, and a sweater.

Naturally, I headed over to M's Instagram to check out the outfit details and further fawn over her new perfect caramel strands and that dewy glow. This then led me to discover that even though she was all bundled up in the mountains, her style game didn't suffer one bit. That oversized shrug/wrap is speaking to me on a spiritual level. Living in a sub-arctic climate, winter accessories and looks are important to me and very relevant to my lifestyle. And with The Blizzard of 2015 already establishing itself in the Northeast, I'm sure there are more than a few of you who can sympathize. So take your cold weather style inspo from Ms. Kaling and stay warm and cute:
