Why Michelle Chamuel Should Totally Win 'The Voice'

by Alicia Lutes

It's Tuesday, which means tonight is the finale of The Voice, you guys! And for those not watching the last beacon of hope for TV singing competitions, it feels important to introduce you to Michelle Chamuel — one of the top three contestants on this season of the series, and with any luck — the one who totally should win it all.

And what a delight it would be to see Chamuel take home the crown! Because Chamuel's talent is unexpected and powerful: there's a mighty large voice coming out of this very small woman who's been the shining star of Team Usher's pack of performers all season. Heading up against the seemingly all-powerful country contingency is no joke, and coach Blake Shelton's top contenders (The Swon Brothers and 16-year-old prodigy Danielle Bradbury) have seriously dominated all season long. But! Chamuel is a truly unique talent, as her ability to emote and really feel the songs she sings is unparalleled. Don't believe us? Check out some of her highlights.

She's like a tinier, pepped-up version of Liz Lemon, no? A pocket-sized powerhouse, to be sure! And if she wins, I daresay that The Voice may actually — finally! — have a bona fide star on their hands. After three seasons of snoozers (Javier Colon, Jermaine Paul, and Cassadee Pope), the show and its fans deserve a winner worth getting behind that also has the potential for crossover success. Her work with coach Usher has proven to be wildly successful (and has made me feel all sorts of weirdly endearing feelings for the man who, ugh, brought Justin Bieber into the fold) by being fun, fresh, and most importantly, a showcase of Chamuel's natural abilities.

But you don't have to take my word for it — even though you should. Tune into The Voice tonight on NBC to find out who has been crowned the winner winner chicken dinner.
