Obama Singing "Uptown Funk" Is Incredible

by Alicia Lu

Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars have put out some crazy infectious hits, so you can bet good money that whatever they collaborate on will spread like wildfire. In fact, their hit "Uptown Funk," has traveled so far across the cultural landscape that it's reached the White House. Sort of. The genius video maker behind YouTube channel Baracksdubs is back with the president's latest mashup, and it might just be his best yet. In their latest video, President Obama sings Ronson and Mars' "Uptown Funk" like he's got a closet full of fedoras and a killer Dougie that America's just not ready to see yet (maybe in 2016).

The video opens with Obama's most baller moment in his presidency thus far, when he dropped the line, "I know because I won both of them" at this year's State of the Union address. Apparently, it was this swagger that inspired the latest mash-up. Fadi Saleh, the man behind Baracksdubs, posted a description of Obama's "Uptown Funk" rendition:

After blowing the roof at last week's State of the Union, Obama shows us yet again he's too hot for us. Don't believe me? Just watch.

And what song could be more perfect to reflect Obama's "brushin' off haters" moment than Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars's "Uptown Funk"?

Here's a sampling of the lyrics:

This shit, that ice coldMichelle Pfeiffer, that white goldThis one, for them hood girlsThem good girlsStraight masterpiecesStylin', while inLivin’ it up in the cityGot Chucks on with Saint LaurentGot kiss myself, I’m so pretty

I’m too hot (hot damn)Call the police and a firemanI’m too hot (hot damn)Make a dragon wanna retire, manI’m too hot (hot damn)Say my name, you know who I amI’m too hot (hot damn)And my band 'bout that moneyBreak it down

Baracksdubs always manages to find clips of speeches during which Obama says the exact lyrics he needs, but this one has got to be one of the most challenging songs he's had to mash up. I mean, how did he come up with Obama saying "Pfeiffer"?

Watch Obama get funky below.

While President Obama might not ooze the kind of funk of Bruno Mars (only he can pull off that lavender blazer) and Mark Ronson in their official video, we're hoping it's because he's just waiting until after he's out of office to bust his moves.

If you're unfamiliar with this phenomenon of our president singing catchy top 40 hits, 1.) where have you been? 2.) you really need to get on that, and 3.) here you go (you're welcome). Here are five of the best Baracksdubs videos of all time:

Iggy Azalea's "Fancy"

Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe"

Daft Punk's "Get Lucky"

Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack"

LMFAO's "Sexy And I Know It"
