Rihanna Covers i-D Mag's Music Issue

by May Sofi

It looks like Rihanna is set to make 2015 her bitch. She just dropped a single with Kanye West and Paul McCartney, entitled "FourFiveSeconds", is rumored to perform at the Grammy's, and has been named the Creative Director of Puma. Looks like she is still ruling the worlds of music and fashion with an iron fits, and I don't think she's planning to stop. Rihanna covered the music issue of i-D magazine, channeling her inner #BadGalRiRi and looking more raw and real than ever.

The look showcases Rihanna like we haven't quite seen her before — trading in her signature bold red lip and shiny hair for dark lipliner and scattered braids. Carrying a very throwback-to-the-90s vibe, Riri's expression reads "I'm a bad bitch and I know it" — and trust me the message comes across loud and clear. The toned down styling makes her feel more relatable in a strange but awesome way. Hats off to her glam squad!

Landing the cover of a magazine like i-D, let alone the music issue, is a huge honor — one that not many musicians get. i-D's Fashion Director, Alastair McKimm, seems to think Rihanna is worthy of that prestige. “She really is one of the most creative, talented and inspiring women I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. The energy and enthusiasm she brings is intense. She’s the ultimate icon of our time.” He's got that right.
