7 Weed Strains Seattle Seahawks Fans Can Enjoy During The Super Bowl

Seahawks fans in Washington are a lucky lot — what's better than watching their team pummel their East Coast rivals (here's hoping) than to get really (and legally) high and eat a bunch of Super Bowl junk food? Nothing, obviously, but the super important question here is: What weed should Seahawks fans smoke for the Super Bowl?

In anticipation for the game, Seattle-based medical marijuana retailer, Solstice, is rolling 12,000 joints for the Super Bowl filled with a special "Seahawks blend." Tempting, though only available to medical pot users, you recreational smokers in Washington can busy yourselves with the conundrum of picking the perfect strain for your Super Bowl experience that your East Coast rivals don't have the privilege of doing.

Blue Dream

A hybrid strain, Blue Dream is great to smoke while watching your favorite team pummel their rivals — it’s dreamy, yet energetic and active at the same time. It’s a strain that some people like to work out to, also, so rest assured you’ll have plenty of spirit to very, very loudly root for your team.

Girl Scout Cookies

Originating in California, this strain has since become widely popular across the nation. Girl Scout Cookies, or GSC, has high THC levels that will get you where you need to go, even if you’re an avid smoker.

If you have back pain from carrying that case of beer into your living room or nausea from overeating Cheetos, GSC can help relieve that, too.

Green Crack

Despite its name, this strain is definitely pure cannabis — rumor has it that Snoop Dogg himself christened this magical strain as such because he liked it so much. A Green Crack high is energetic and you’ll feel like talking a lot, but, hey, what better time to run your mouth than during the Super Bowl, right?

Seattle Cough

Home-grown by Seattle’s own Dutch Brothers Farms, this strain will leave you euphoric, happy and focused, a perfect state of mind for when the Seahawks score that next touchdown.

Trainwreck

An ideal daytime strain, Trainwreck is more of a body high, so you’ll get a good dose of clearheadedness — probably just enough to help you focus on the game. Many people with chronic aches and pains swear by it, so that can only be an added benefit.

OG Kush

This is easily one of the most famous strains in the world, and for good reason. OG Kush has the highest THC contents of all kushes, if grown properly, and should be apt for a football game as it keeps you alert and your heart rate up. Another effect of the high is that you get absolutely famished, so there’s no need to worry about leftovers from your Super Bowl party.

Beast Mode 2.0

Of course Washingtonians have the good fortune of smoking a strain of pot named after their favorite running back, Marshawn Lynch. Green Umbrella, a weed-delivery service that helped develop the strain, named it as such after Lynch’s nickname. After last year’s Beast Mode OG, the company’s co-owner, Nate “Diggity” Johnson, told the Seattle P-I that this year’s strain is much more potent. In his own words:

“There’s no way that you’re getting by smoking this without feeling it, kind of like how Marshawn literally pushes the defense down instead of them pushing him down. It’s going to push you. You’re going to feel it right away.”

Seattle, are you excited or what?!
