Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling Reuniting?

Get ready to feel like it's the '90s again. According to Us Weekly, former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-stars Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling may be reuniting in a very meta way in a new sitcom set to premiere on ABC Family, titled Mystery Girls. Just how meta, you ask? They'll be co-stars reuniting...on a show about co-stars reuniting. WHAT A FUNNY LITTLE JOKE, ABC FAMILY.

But seriously — apparently Garth is in talks to join the already-cast Spelling in the project, and, according to Deadline, sources are "confident" that the deal will go through. Better yet, it'll be a regular role, so Garth and Spelling will legit once again be co-stars.

As for the show itself, Mystery Girls is said to follow a "former starlet" (Spelling, which is accurate), who is "roped into solving crimes" (LOL) with her former co-star (Garth, if the deal goes through), because some witness to a crime "will only speak to the infamous Mystery Girls." Apparently, the show they were on was called Mystery Girls, and that is the actual name of the series. More meta!

But really, how hilarious is the idea of Jennie Garth and Tori Spelling solving crimes together? Color me jaded, but I'm not exactly seeing this being the next Veronica Mars. The nostalgia of the two of them together again will likely pull in viewers for an episode or two, but if the show can't stand on its own two feet after that, it has no chance.

No word on when to expect Mystery Girls on air.
