'Scandal' Keeps On Winning

Scandal is really getting to the point of being completely unstoppable. According to TVLine, last night's season three premiere — which you can read the recap for here, if you missed it — returned to majorly high ratings that actually marked a series best for the show.

Here's the breakdown: Scandal's ratings have been climbing since the beginning of Season 2, but the series managed to actually break double digits with this episode and pull in a whopping 10.5 million viewers total during its live broadcast. That gave it a 3.6 rating in the advertiser-covered 18-49 demo, which is up 13 percent from the season two finale that aired last May. Even better, it's up 71 percent from the season two premiere which aired at this time last year.

What's notable about these rising ratings is that they officially make Scandal one of the first shows to be directly affected by buzz exclusively on Twitter. Earlier this year, the show began making a pretty big splash on the social networking site, and seemingly overnight, ratings grew tremendously — and have been ever since.

Scandal, of course, airs on ABC on Thursday nights at 10 P.M. EST.
