Who Will Replace Jon Stewart On 'The Daily Show'? Here Are 6 Women Who'd Be Great Hosts

Uff da. It truly is an end of an era: After 16 years, Jon Stewart is leaving The Daily Show . Tuesday, Comedy Central announced that the venerable host of the iconic "fake" news show will sign off at the end of 2015. Well, this is quite the summer bummer (and it's only February).

So, who will replace Stewart? It goes without saying, but those are some pretty big shoes to fill. Comedy Central has yet to announce who will take the spot at the helm of the satirical TV show, and I can't see into the future, so I sure as shoeshine do not know the answer. Sorry, pal.

...However, I can share my wish list, because while I am no soothsayer, I do know who I'd LOVE to watch host The Daily Show (other than Jon Stewart, of course). And you know what? All of my dream Daily Show hosts happen to be women.

Damn, I really, really hope Comedy Central chooses a woman to be the new host. It's 2015, for pizza's sake. The lack of women late night talk show hosts would be downright laughable if it wasn't so frustrating.

Click through to see some brilliant and hilarious ladies I would be happy to see take a seat behind the Daily Show desk.

Samantha Bee

The freakin’ awesome Samantha Bee has been a regular correspondent on The Daily Show since 2003. If there’s anyone who knows the ropes of The Daily Show, it’s Bee.

Jessica Williams

Jessica Williams is one of the standout correspondents on The Daily Show, and with good reason. Every last one of her segments warrant nothing less than a standing ovation.

Chelsea Peretti

She’s one of the sharpest comedians on the planet—on the planet, I say!—and I can only imagine how entertaining (and Wolf Mode-tastic) her interviews would be.

Aisha Tyler

Not only is Aisha Tyler no stranger to the hosting game, but she just so happens to be ridiculously funny. Also? Her favorite emoji is the poop emoji. Woman after my heart.
