Epic Britney & Xtina 'Mickey Mouse Club' Moments

by Kristie Rohwedder

On Monday night's episode of The Tonight Show, host Jimmy Fallon challenged his guest to a round of Wheel of Musical Impressions. His guest wasn't just any guest, mind you. His guest was Christina "Four Octaves" Aguilera. During the game, Aguilera sang like fellow pop goddesses Cher, Shakira, and Britney Spears. It was an absolute delight to hear Aguilera imitate both her Burlesque costar and the Voice coach, but it was her singing like Spears that truly did a number on me (and, like, 35 of my Facebook friends). The Spears impression is so excellent I was moved to pick up my phone, call up this week, and tell the rest of this week to pack up its bags. Because Aguilera's impersonation of her former co-Mouseketeer won the week.

While were on the subject of Mouseketeers: Do you know what I never tire of revisiting? Mickey Mouse Club clips. And yes, I am about to revisit some of Spears and Aguilera's best moments on The Mickey Mouse Club right now.

What is my favorite Britney and/or Xtina moment that ever took place on MMC? Glad you asked. There are so many great options to choose from, but I managed to narrow it down to four.

There was that time a preteen Aguilera tackled Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing":

NBD.

And there was that time Brit Brit sang with some person named Justin Timberlake:

Awwwwww.

Oh! There was also that time both of the future pop icons provided the backup vocals for this rendition of "Fools Rush In":

Love a good jazz square.

OK, all of those moments are terrific, but the crown jewel of all of the Mickey Mouse Club clips is this advertisement for Yecccch breath spray:

These are the proud faces of two tweens whose breath smells like curdled milk and skunk sweat:

Here's a dream I'd like to throw into the universe: I wish Britney, Xtina, and JT would get together and remake this brilliant faux-tisement. I would watch it once a morning every morning for the rest of my life.
