Are Tom Hanks & Justin Bieber Friends?

by Kenya Foy

In the latest round of awesome weekend news, Carly Rae Jepsen's new music video for "I Really Like You" is here, and it features quite the interesting guest stars: Namely, Tom Hanks and Justin Bieber. Having a fellow pop star make an appearance in the video seems like a logical decision, but the idea of Hanks appearing in Jepsen's video feels downright strange. And the thing is, it's not exactly a cameo — he basically lip syncs his way through the entire video, then Jepsen and Bieber appear toward the very end. It's amazing and weird all at once.

Speaking of things that completely boggle the mind, I'm still trying to wrap my brain around exactly what Hanks and Bieber could've discussed during the filming. Honestly, it's hard to imagine being in a room with Bieber and not ignoring him or going all Orlando Bloom on him, but Hanks seems like a pretty nice guy — so, y'know, that probably didn't happen.

Anyway, until some additional behind-the-scenes footage from "I Really Like You" surfaces or Jepsen shares some hilarious details on Instagram, here are a few ideas about what Hanks and Bieber's conversations entailed:

How Much They "Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Like" Each Other

Yes, really. Because the song is called "I Really Like You," this was obviously a must-have conversation.

Tom Hanks' Dance Moves

In Jepsen's video, Hanks is tasked with pulling off some pretty intricate choreography. It's hard to imagine him getting through all those eight counts without soliciting some advice from Bieber on how to perfect his moves.

They Discussed Tom Hanks Singing "This Is How We Do It"

Like many, Biebs was pretty impressed with Hanks' performance and probably asked if they can do a joint performance in the future.

Biebs Tapped Hanks For His Next Music Video

Because, obviously.

A Possible Film Collaboration

The Long Lost Adventures of Bieber and Wilson, perhaps?

Why Hanks Wasn't At Bieber's 21st Birthday Bash

Although the singer turned 21 on March 1, the birthday celebration will likely last all month, so Hanks can totally make it up to him.

Hanks Asked Bieber To Do A Song With His Son Chet Hanx

Apparently, Hanks' son is a rapper who made a pretty awful music video, so he could probably use some tips from Bieber, who's well-connected in the rap world.

The Weather

Hey, it's an underrated conversation topic! And most of the U.S. has been experiencing some pretty terrible weather lately, so it makes sense.
