The Newest 'SNL' Host Is A Seasoned Professional

The latest Saturday Night Live host has a ton of experience under his belt, so you know it's going to be a good show. Entertainment Weekly reports that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will host SNL on March 28, when the show returns from a short two-week hiatus. This hosting gig will mark the fourth time Johnson has been at the helm of the comedy show. The Furious 7 star also hosted it back in 2000, 2002, and 2009. So although it's been a few years since he last took the stage, he has the skill to fall right back into place.

SNL has been delivering strong ratings lately with appearances from Fifty Shades of Grey's Dakota Johnson and Thor's Chris Hemsworth in the past couple of weeks. Last Saturday's Hemsworth-hosted show drew a 4.0 household rating. But I don't doubt that The Rock and up-and-coming musical guest George Ezra can continue the high ratings on March 28.

After all, Dwayne Johnson has been there, done that three times already to much success. Who can forget his spoof of President Barack Obama? It was appropriately titled "The Rock Obama" and I sincerely hope it makes a reappearance when he hosts in a couple of weeks.

I also expect we'll see some WWE jokes for the former wrestler, and maybe even a Fast & Furious sketch since the newest installment starring the actor debuts April 3. But whatever skits the writers draw up for him, I'm confident that March 28 will be another success for SNL with repeat-host Johnson leading the charge.
