Further Details On Scott Disick's Rehab Treatment

On Monday, it was reported that Keeping Up With the Kardashians star Scott Disick checked into rehab for alcohol abuse. According to TMZ, Disick is receiving treatment at Costa Rica's Rythmia Life Advancement Center, where he will undergo hallucinogenic treatment. Apparently, Disick is looking to go the all natural route, and it's something he's been looking into for some time now. Per TMZ, "Disick briefly visited the facility last month to research the place and was convinced Iboga could help him fight his alcohol demons."

The Iboga plant, an African psychedelic shrub, is said to to create "Iboga flights," which reportedly helps users look at their inner selves and then determine what triggers their addictions. TMZ also reports that a shaman will be there with Disick every step of the way. Treatment is said to last between one to several weeks.

The Daily Mail reports that the rehab facility's treatments are controversial, in part because the drug is banned in the United States and causes hallucinations like that of LSD. The center vows that this is "an effective form of treatment."

As for Disick, he released a statement in full support of the center and the route he's chosen to take in hopes of getting better. He said,

While I have been unconvinced in the past of treatment and therapy methods, Rythmia's rehab approach puts my worries at ease. The fact that there is a money back guarantee that has never been called upon gives me even more confidence. I am looking forward to starting my therapy and iboga treatment there.
