Every Outfit Rachel Ever Wore On 'Friends', Ranked From Best To Worst: Season 4

Season 4 of Friends saw a newly single (again) Rachel ON POINT. She was chic (except for one or two incidents involving a cheerleading costume and a neglige) and she was rocking her best hair ever. "Simple" was her calling card for the season, and even when she was bad she was still pretty okay.

Season 4, Episode 15

Rachel. You’re supposed to be CHIC.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 24

Nope, it’s even worse covered with this jacket.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 24

I get that she’s going on a plane but this isn’t good. And who wears flip flops, a. generally, and b. on a flight? Don’t you know it’s cold up there!

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 5

Mom goes to the mall.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 23

… And just kept on throwing up.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 20

Ugly printed tee with ugly printed skirt. It’s like ugly prints just threw up all over her…

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 12

This outfit makes Rachel look decidedly frumpy, which is how we know it’s bad.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 2

Again. The shoes. Look like something my ancient Greek grandmother wears while gardening.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 3

I have never willingly said this but I feel like the shoes deserve it: I JUST. CAN’T. EVEN.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 5

You might not think this is as bad as I do, but I really hate paisley prints.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 3

Is it your debutante ball Rachel? Is that what’s up with all the white lace?

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 3

I have a personal problem with these long, thinly knitter cardigans from the ’90s.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 7

WHEN? WHEN WILL THE POO BROWN MADNESS END?

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 11

Yet another blazer that’s too big and bunchy on her.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 11

Sometimes it’s like she’s not even trying and it shows.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 4

Again, what really lets Rachel down is when her wardrobe doesn’t fit her properly.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 14

Striped turtleneck and SQUARE TOED SHOES. Not impressed, Rach.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 15

Mall day outfit!

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 10

I normally love leopard print. You guys know that. But this ensemble is not good, not good at all.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 9

More poo brown. And we all know my thoughts on poo brown clothes.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 4

Poo brown pants and a stripe t-shirt sweater in various shades of poo? Not great.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 7

The soccer mom look.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 12

Not Rachel’s best sleep wear effort.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 22

Rachel normally does work wear so well, but that ill fitting polyester coat thing is downright ugly.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 14

There’s that fur collar again, but not as good with Rachel pale blue soccer mom sweater under it.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 22

That is a truly terrible shade of blue.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 22

This is really Charlotte York territory.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 5

There aren’t many words for that awful skirt.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 12

Surf’s up bro.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 11

This particular night gown looks like something they make you wear at the hospital.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 13

If there wasn’t a satin belt just below her boobs, I would have rated this higher.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 17

Too much camel toe in those jeans.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 13

This shirt is the reason I quit corporate.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 6

Totally very nothing.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 16

So many good things here but they’re brought down by the uneven proportions between skirt and jacket, and the fact that the jacket is poo brown.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 17

This is okay, but the hair makes it a bit “housewife on a cleaning day”.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 1

I mean, it looks super comfortable.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 19

Cute-ish PJs.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 3

Not Rachel’s professional best, and yet not her all time worst either. Middling.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 7

Skirt and tights: YES. Puke green cropped cardi and weird old lady heels: NO.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 18

This is boring, but probably one of the best fitting pairs of jeans I’ve seen on Rach.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 11

We all know how I feel about necklaces over turtlenecks. Otherwise this would have been an A+!

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 14

This was a weird pattern from the late ’90s-early ’00s.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 6

This is basically me hanging out in a t-shirt and sweats but my t-shirt has more holes in it and the sweats are stained.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 20

I get that this is casual but a t-shirt sleeve length on a hoodie? WHY?

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 6

It’s not bad, it’s just… Eh.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 18

This isn’t one of Rachel’s best night gowns, but I’m giving her points for her gorgeous face and the fact that she’s holding up those sexy teddies.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 10

The top half works, but the bottom half is kind of a mess.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 5

This mid-length t-shirt dress is incredible, but those boots…

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 2

Décolletage is on point.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 5

I LOVE the loafers. Shame there wasn’t a better view of the rest of the outfit.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 13

There’s that amazing fur collar again, this time in brown. Minus points for the weird green top underneath.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 10

A cute knitted sweater for coffee shop hangin’.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 22

This jungle green with what looks like a fawn print skirt is cute, except we all know: FLIP FLOPS ARE NOT SHOES. Even when they’re on Rachel’s glorious feet.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 1

I love Rachel in lemon. And I love halters. And I love the lemon paired with the red shoes. Shame about the Ross accessory.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 18

Again with the simple evening wear. It looks hot, but I’m still baffled as to why Rachel has so many of these dresses.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 17

Well played on the casual striped sweater, Rach.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 14

I will always support Rachel’s right to wear black mini skirts and tights.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 9

Ditto.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 9

This is kind of weird, being a boxy double breasted suit, but the shirt cuffs, jacket hit, color, hair, everything, works on Rachel.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 2

This is what I’d now call “Zara business chic”. Which is a good thing.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 23

Rachel has some of the cutest sun dresses I’ve ever seen.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 10

That fur collar WORKS, especially when paired with that face.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 16

There’s that neckline again, in a simple but chic black evening look. Side note: what twenty-something has so many red-carpet ready gowns in their wardrobe?

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 13

Leopard is the new black.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 20

Rachel’s one of the few women whose arms are so perfect a straight neckline suits.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 20

I’ve always wished I could do this with my girlfriends.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 8

Simple chic, grey and black layering, sheer black tights (with no runs!) it’s like my dream wardrobe just exploded on Rachel.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 19

Again, it might be lingerie, but HELLO! Only Rachel could pull this off as a dress.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 16

Look, I know it’s not fashion, but are we really going to say this cheerleader look is bad? No, were not, because we’re not crazy.

Image: NBC

Season 4, Episode 13

If I was Rachel Zoe and it was 2007, I’d be saying “I die.”
