Remaining 1D Members Tweet About Zayn

If you were awoken by the sounds of shrieks and sobbing this morning, no need to find the nearest bunker, the apocalypse is not coming. Zayn Malik aka The Bad Boy has decided to leave the biggest boy band in the world, One Direction. Needless to say, the fans have been losing their collective minds over the news. Unfortunately for them, a school nurse won't accept, "Zayn Misery" as an acceptable ailment. Sorry kids, you'll just have to keep that chin up and carry on, that's what One Direction would want you to do. In fact, all of the remaining fellows of One Direction have reached out to their fans on Twitter, and have made it clear the fans are their priority. When Harry Styles says he loves you, he really means it, y'all.

Malik officially left One Direction on Wednesday and in a statement said,

My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band. I'd like to apologize to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.

Though it's not 100 percent clear why Malik decided to leave so suddenly, it appears that it's a decision that was an emotional and difficult one to make, and their fans can at least breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the band is going to continue as a foursome. One Direction wrote on their Facebook page,

After five incredible years Zayn Malik has decided to leave One Direction. Niall, Harry, Liam, and Louis will continue as a four-piece and look forward to the forthcoming concerts of their world tour and recording their fifth album, due to be released later this year.

Though for a while, it seemed like the Facebook statement might be Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne's only words on the matter, by Thursday morning they'd all also commented on the news on Twitter. While they're clearly shaken by the loss, they have promised to keep going and they make one thing very clear: they appreciate and have nothing but love for their huge fan base.
