Dolly's Got A Message For Miley

by Alanna Bennett

You gotta wonder if Miley Cyrus ever sits down and just thinks about her life, just really examines it. Not in terms of her own choices or any career-related decisions, but just in terms of what it is. Because her godmother is Dolly Parton, and Dolly Parton went on The Queen Latifah show this week and did a rap, part of which mentioned Cyrus. And we're already having trouble deciding which part of that sentence to focus on.

"Whoo, look at them go/ I'm tweaking them/ I'm working, I'm twerking/ Hey, Miley, I have your wrecking balls right here!" And that's only one small bit of Parton throwing down. There's her blonde 'fro, which is probably technically problematic but we're gonna let it slide for now on account of Dolly Parton lighting up our worlds.

Queen Latifah/ She da queen/ Of hip-hop, rap, TV, and screen/ She da queen of her own hood/ But I'm the queen of Dollywood, yo/ I own my territory/ Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

We have to admit, our favorite part of the video is whenever it cuts over to Queen Latifah standing on the sidelines and being totally into it. Because now all we (desperately) want is for Latifah and Parton to put on a variety show together with at least one sleepover sketch.
