Nick Jonas Understands Zayn's Pain

by Caitlyn Callegari

Before a gaggle of suave, shaggy-haired Brits were molded into the otherworldly phenomenon that is now known as One Direction, there was another, equally as shaggy and boyishly charming boy band. And, like One Direction, they too sung directly to vulnerable teen hearts everywhere. A trio of adolescent brothers from New Jersey who just as easily incited out of control fan riots as “the boys” now do. You may know them as the Jonas Brothers, or, as I like to call them, those guys with the divinely inspired eyebrows. Either way, they're currently dunzo, and now, in an interview with E!, Nick Jonas has imparted his career wisdom onto Zayn Malik in response to his similar decision to leave One Direction.

E! points out that, Nick Jonas, like Malik, was the one who put the break up into motion. In light of that, Jonas said, "It's always tough. You know, there's never an easy time to make a decision like that. I commend him for doing what he feels is right for him and you got to stay true to yourself." For what it's worth, though, if Zayn is anything like Nick, that bodes pretty damn well for him.

The youngest Jonas' career is on fire at the moment and seemingly anyone in "the biz" would want to follow in his footsteps. Here’s hoping Malik’s opportunities are this plentiful in the near future.

Hello, remember this wildly popular photo shoot?

His songs, "Chains" and "Jealous" are currently numbers 20 and 38 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart, respectively

He's hosting the Kid's Choice Awards

And he's starring in Ryan Murphy's Scream Queens

Hey, maybe Nick and Zayn will team up and form their own two-man band. A girl can hope.
