Scott Disick Is Planning To Return To Rehab

It looks like reports of Scott Disick leaving rehab weeks early in favor of hosting parties at Costa Rican nightclubs have been greatly exaggerated... go figure. According to Lord Disick himself, he does plan to return to rehab, and he never actually left early — leaving the facility in Costa Rica after a week was actually always the plan. In his own words, via People:

The funny thing is, a lot of people were under the impression that I was going to this rehab facility in Costa Rica for a month, when the truth was, I was going for a week for one treatment that they have there. I'm not done. I plan to go back to this place.

Honestly, it's not all that surprising that tabloid coverage would have gotten the details wrong — a story about any celebrity, especially Disick, at their worst will always get attention and readers, so it makes sense that the angle would be sold as "Scott Disick leaves rehab early to party" — and it sounds like Disick is truly making an effort to get help as he struggles with his addiction. Admitting you have a problem is one of the most difficult steps to recovery, so the fact that Disick has clearly done so is encouraging.

Disick continued to People:

It's beautiful and I love it, but I wasn't able to spend three or four weeks there right now. I never planned on it, and everyone keeps telling me that I dropped out early. I wanted to actually Instagram or tweet a photo of my tickets that showed that I never intended to stay any longer than I stayed … I'm a work in progress and anything that I can do to better myself, I'm trying.

It's a bit sad that Disick would feel the need to justify the steps he's making to gain assistance with his issues — he shouldn't have to answer to anyone but himself, especially in this situation. The Kardashian family's whole modus operandi, but in the face of a situation like this where a man is bravely taking steps towards recovery and health, it would without a doubt be best for tabloid coverage to give him the privacy he not only needs, but also deserves , as he makes progress in his recovery.
