Will Eileen Davidson Quit 'RHOBH'?

by Laura Rosenfeld

Before Season 5 of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills started, I had great expectations for how new cast member Eileen Davidson would fare on the show. She's an actress, so she's super used to being in front of the camera, not to mention she has starred in soap operas for years, so she knows a thing or two about what makes for good TV drama. However, Eileen has seemed nothing but appalled by what she's seen on RHOBH this season. Does that mean Eileen will quit Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 6?

Bravo has made no official announcement regarding casting for next season yet, and we probably won't start hearing about rumored new cast members for a few months more. Unsurprisingly, Eileen hasn't let her future involvement with the show slip either. We'll just have to wait and see to know if Eileen will be signing on for another season of RHOBH for sure.

However, if you were to ask me right now if I think Eileen will be staying or leaving the show before Season 6, I'm not sure I would even be able to give you a definitive opinion. The way I see it, it could really go either way.

Let's first start off with the obvious question: Will Bravo even ask Eileen back? I believe they will, and I feel pretty strongly about that. Eileen is super weird, but relatable. She has a lot of really great sound bites and GIF-able moments, so she helps bolster the show's all-important online presence. Eileen has also made a couple of enemies on the show, namely Brandi Glanville and Kim Richards (the latter seems to be especially provoked by Eileen). This newbie has demonstrated that she's interesting and can bring the drama, and that's really all we ever ask of our Housewives

The complications arise when you think about whether or not Eileen will want to return to RHOBH. I love Eileen because I feel like she represents the viewer on RHOBH. She is the Greek chorus, watching the drama unfold and usually not getting too involved in it, but she always has some on point comment about the craziness that has ensued, much like we all do in our living rooms. I have heard Eileen say "Who does that?" with a voice evoking sheer horror because she is so disgusted by the behavior of her fellow cast mates. It makes me laugh every time.

However, comments like that also make Eileen seem like she's not having the best time on RHOBH. Plus, even when she's not being personally attacked, she just looks so fed up with some of the ladies, and not in a "I'm going to claw your eyes out" kind of way but in a much less fun "Get me out of here" kind of way. Some of her post-filming tweets also make it seem like she is barely surviving being around these women.

Don't get me wrong. The girl knows what it means to be catty, and she will come for anyone that messes with her. But I feel like she would be so much happier if she didn't have to be forced into social situations with some of her RHOBH cast mates all for the sake of a TV show because some of what these ladies do is just downright mean and tasteless.

Still, Eileen became an actress for a reason. She must enjoy being in front of the camera and entertaining people. And since the public's interest in reality shows like RHOBH has been partly responsible for the demise of a few daytime soaps, it really would be a smart career move for her to stick with the series. It sure beats starring in a sequel to Stranger at the Pentagon .
