Vanessa Hudgens Regrets Being Mean

by Arielle Dachille

Gabriella Montez is super sorry for those white-hot glares of disdain that she gave you back when she and Troy Bolton were together. For serious. In a recent interview with The New York Times, Vanessa Hudgens remembered giving Zac Efron fans "death stares" while the two were dating. To be fair, you were sweating her ex-boyfriend pretty hard.

Hudgens, who is currently starring in the Broadway revival of Gigi, has really gotten some perspective on the Zanessa years."I went through a phase when I was really mean because I was so fed up," remembered the he HSM alum of her five-year long relationship with Efron. "Girls were running after him, and I was giving them death stares."

I've never been in a high-profile relationship with a teen heartthrob before, but I can imagine where Hudgens' head was at. People were all over her boyfriend, of course she wasn't happy about it, and I'm guessing that she has no emotional poker face. Hence, death stares.

But now, with the perspective of a few years, she sees that the superfans weren't trying to steal her bae. They were just being superfans. "I realized that's not what it's about," said Hudgens. "Spread the love, be a good person, they support you, be nice." In addition to chilling out on that front, she has also embraced feminism. Pat yourself on the back, V. Hudge!

Now you may be wondering: "Did I get a death stare?" Let's imagine what these particular looks that could kill looked like.

The "Girl, please..." Face

The classic expression used when girls ran after her and Efron, and were intercepted by security guards.

The "'Kay, loser..." Face

Deployed in circumstances when fans wearing HSM shirts started singing "Get Your Head In The Game" to Efron.

The "Please stop speaking" Face

"Tell me how many times you've seen High School Musical. I really care."

The "I'm standing right here..." Face

Reserved for when fans tried to attack Efron with kisses. Because, REALLY?!?!
