Alessandra Ambrosio Joins The 'TMNT' Sequel

An angel is taking off her wings and preparing to kick butt alongside a quartet of crime-fighting turtles. Following in the footsteps of other models-turned-actresses (we're looking at you, Kate, Cara, and Rosie), Alessandra Ambrosio has been cast in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 , a sequel to last year's hit reboot of the comedy/action franchise. Even though this isn't the first time that the Victoria's Secret Angel has appeared on the big screen, the TMNT 2 casting marks Ambrosio's first major speaking role. She made her feature film debut with a cameo in the James Bond flick Casino Royale back in 2006.

In TMNT 2, Ambrosio will play the love interest for Will Arnett's character Vernon Fenwick. Just a few days before the announcement, the duo was spotted in New York City during a Knicks vs. Clippers game. It all makes sense now why Ambrosio kissed Arnett on the cheek as a camera crew passed by to capture the romantic moment. Prior to this major film role, the Brazilian supermodel has appeared on television series such as Entourage and Gossip Girl.

With the return of Megan Fox as April O'Neil and the recent casting of Arrow's Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, TMNT 2 is shaping up to be one star-studded sequel. The film is currently filming in New York and will be released this summer.
