There's A Modeling Agency For Instagram Pets

by Jamie Cuccinelli

It seems that everyone from Marc Jacobs to MAC Cosmetics has been trolling through Instagram for their next campaign stars, turning the Insta-famous into bona-fide super models. Now, a new talent agency aims to hook Instagram famous animals up with modeling contracts, too. The social media platform has become such a readily used tool for discovering men and women around the globe that there's even a modeling agency dedicated to Instagram scouting. But furry models? Has this trend officially jumped the shark?

Fohr Card, a company that connects bloggers with big name brands and industry contracts, is expanding their business with Fur Card, a branch dedicated to launching the modeling careers of the most influential pets on the Web. According to WWD, Fur Card already has an extensive directory of 400 cuddly critters and all of them have personal pages ranked by number of Instagram followers. Are you ready to feel bad about yourself and your selfie skills? Because some of these fashionista pets have over one million followers, including Toast, a puppy mill rescue turned mega model (@toastmeetsworld), Tuna, a Chihuahua with a serious overbite (@tunameltsmyheart), and Marnie, a silly Shih Tzu (@marniethedog).

Barneys New York and the menswear retailer Mr Porter are just two posh brands that have already rolled out editorials starring these fluffy friends, and their demand is only expected to grow. "Booking celebrity animals is as hard if not harder than booking actual celebrities and models. It was almost easier to book Karlie [Kloss],” Lucky Magazine editor in chief Evan Chen told WWD.

If the need for adorable dogs and cats continues to increase (which it will, duh), then we're going to need even more handsome, furry mugs to grace magazine covers and traipse down the runway. Here are six perfect pets deserve modeling contracts of their very own (and are chicer than I'll ever be).

Cecil Bunny Delevingne

Call it nepotism, but Cara Delevingne's bunny (@cecildelevingne) needs to hop onto a Chanel runway, stat.

Trotter

Her smize is legendary (@trotterpup).

Menswear Dog

Everyone knows Menswear Dog (@mensweardog) and his closet that could easily rival that of your boyfriend's.

Sophia Loren

A precious Pomeranian (@cutesophialoren) just as fabulous as her namesake.

Montjiro

He only barks for custom outfits (@montjiro).

Digby & Aloysius Van Winkle

In their downtime from modeling, these dogs (@digbyvanwinkle) enjoy lounging around in casualwear.

Maverick

Couldn't you just see this dapper young gentleman (@maverick_poser) on the pages of GQ?
