5 Reasons To Be Proud Of Your A-Cups

by Aly Walansky

When I was 13, I dragged my mom and my grandma to get me my first bra. They bemoaned I didn't actually yet need one. I insisted. "Get her the smallest one!" my grandma sighed. The reality was that was the end result. And the result now, as well, two decades later. I'm a 36A...and unless I get knocked up, it's probably going to stay this way. But are there benefits to having small boobs?

Truth be told, I've whined a lot about my A-cups. I've bemoaned to my besties that I'm built like a boy, and I've been endlessly jealous of all girls who have great cleavage in dresses and swimsuits.

But, you know what? It's not so bad. In fact, it's pretty darn awesome sometimes. Unlike my boobtacular friends, I can get away with hardly ever wearing a bra. My clothing never has fit issues related to boobs getting in the way. And, you know what? No man ever seems to have been at all dissuaded by them come sexy time.

The grass is often still greener on the other side, I confess — but there's a whole lot of reason to really love my boobs!

1. I can go braless — and do OFTEN

Small breasted woman not only can choose from all different types of bras — cheap, bandeaus, lacy, etc but if they don't want to wear a bra that is A-Cup, that's too!

"In fact, there was a French study that states that woman actually don't need a bra. Researchers believed that wearing bras prevented the growth of breast tissue, which leads to the deterioration of the muscle that supports the breast. If you don't wear a bra, the muscles are worked out more, the findings suggest," says celebrity plastic surgeon Thomas Sterry.

2. No sag for me

Going back to the French study, woman with smaller boobs are not so worries about sagging breasts and they also have the dear of their nipples pointing down over the time, says Sterry. Perky boobs also make you look younger and thinner.

3. No pain

Small breasted woman not only have better posture but also don't experience the back pain that large-breasted women do, says Sterry. Big breasts can weigh between 15 and 23 pounds and cause neck, tension and headaches.

4. All clothes are acceptable

"You can wear almost any shirt without the risk of looking slutty!" says Jene Luciani, an author and TV/lifestyles correspondent. That includes super low-cut, tight, whatever you want. We have endless options our ample cleavage friends simply don't have! See also: Strapless dresses.

5. No boob sweat

Seriously, I've been known to workout not wearing a bra, and get no weird looks at all. And related benefit? "You don't get under-boob sweat!" says Luciani.
