Katy Perry Now Owns Custom Puppy Pajamas

by Catie Keck

It’s a little insane what we’ll do for our pets, be it Paris Hilton’s puppy mansion or first class travel accommodations that allow these precious critters to remain with their owners at all available hours. But how about Katy Perry’s custom puppy pajamas? The bubblegum pop star has plastered the face of her “tour mascot” and sentient teddy bear Butters all over a set of silky, powder pink jammies. The set is rumored to be a gift from stylist Johnny Wujek, so no, you are not currently able to procure some for yourself and your loved ones.

Perry posted a picture to her Instagram earlier today with Butters in tow with the caption “CUSTOM PUPPY PJ GAME STRONG,” and a shoutout to Wujek. For those unfamiliar, the dog is something of a morale booster for Perry and her crew while they’re on tour, presumably so that no one cracks after being trapped on a bus for months on end. As People points out, Perry is quoted as saying, “She’s such an amazing tour dog. She brings this incredible joy because sometimes it can get incredibly tiring on the road. We love her very much and we treat her very well.” Tour dogs: the new mindfulness.

But of course Perry isn’t the first to plaster her pet all over an accessory or clothing. She’s joined by other celebrities whose pets' personal brands transcend their individual Instagram accounts and extend to wearable memorabilia. A few of note:

Karl Lagerfeld

Choupette Lagerfeld is something of her own fashion empire. The cat made 3 million euro in profit from campaigns she modeled for last year, and she somehow maintains her own Twitter, Instagram, book deal, and clothing line, all while lacking opposable thumbs. Let's all take a moment of silence while we let sink in the fact a cat is more successful that most of us could ever hope to be.

Lena Dunham

There's certainly a chance that Perry took her cue for Lena Dunham, whose Clashist ensemble a few months back birthed a shirt printed with the many faces of her dog Lamby Antonoff. Naturally the dog got one too.

Mariska Hargitay re: Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift is as synonymous with cats as she is with pop music with a country bent. But when she began posting pictures of her kittens Olivia Benson and Meredith Grey, the Internet lost its mind. News of her chosen names eventually reached Mariska Hargitay, Olivia Benson's IRL counterpart, who played this off with an air of good humor.

Lady Gaga

Okay, so not exactly clothes inspired by her pet, but Asia Gaga is certainly a worthy mention for the number of times their custom outfits are coordinated.
