Amy Poehler Is A Redhead Now

by May Sofi

While some celebrities are notorious for undergoing constant hair makeovers — Julianne Hough and Amber Rose are of the latest — others are more reserved and conventional in that department. This particular starlet is of the latter kind: Amy Poehler dyed her hair red, deviating from her signature blonde color, and it looks amazing.

The Parks & Recreation actress debuted her fiery new 'do in Los Angeles on Tuesday night at the 60th anniversary celebration of Allen Ginsberg's poem "Howl", according to E Online. The brand new shade is quite the departure from her usual blonde locks, which she has kept intact literally forever. Although we are currently amidst a wave of celebrity hair transformations — which includes Kim Kardashian, Christina Hendricks, Hillary Duff, and many more — I would not have guessed Poehler would be next on the list. After all, the former Leslie Knope is not one to change her up style very often. The closest thing to a "makeover" we've seen from her over the years was her strawberry blonde mane as Regina George's mom on Mean Girls, and that was just for a role.

Nevertheless, she sure seems to be hopping on the hair change bandwagon now. Perhaps this is for a new upcoming role as well? No one knows for sure. My prediction is that she just wanted a fresh change to ring in the new spring season post Parks and Rec— and what better way to do that than with a hot new hairdo?

Poehler's dyed tresses are not exactly fire-engine red, like Rihanna circa 2012. Instead, she opted for a copper-ish, auburn hue that doesn't seem too dramatic. This shade actually really suits her and it's a refreshing alternative to the usual blonde. Let's take a look at the transformation a little closer.
