Shu Uemura x Yazbukey Is Perfection

by Rosie Narasaki

I don't usually like quoting the iconic first line of Pride and Prejudice, but it is a truth universally acknowledged that Shu Uemura has the best collaborations in town. Their limited edition collections have never been anything short of ultra chic. I mean, I still regret the fact that I didn't buy anything from the Karl Lagerfeld-helmed Shupette collection — heck, my non-buyer's remorse goes back even further than that: I'm still sad I didn't buy anything from the 2013 Takashi Murakami or the 2009 Moyoco Anno collaborations. Luckily, their newest collection with Yazbukey is more than enough to cure past woes.

If you haven't heard of it before, Yazbukey is an accessories brand that was founded back in 2000 by... well, Yaz Bukey. Bukey has perhaps the most interesting job title ever, as her profile on Style.com describes her as a "Parisian designer (and Ottoman princess)." Her accessories are known for their bright, trendy appeal, and her inaugural collaboration with Shu Uemura is no exception: It's all about pop-art-y stylized lips and equally chic eyes — and from the iconic Shu Uemura Cleansing Oil with a makeover to enviably bright orange lipsticks, each piece of the new collection is completely covet-worthy. Let's take a look:

What do you think? The lashes are as iconically gorgeous as ever (especially the pink ones), but I think I might be falling for the lipsticks — I mean, what could possibly be cuter than lipsticks decorated with actual lips?

The Yazbukey x Shu Uemura capsule collection is set to launch in May!
