Madonna Sings "Holiday" With Classroom Instruments

by Alyse Whitney

The Tonight Show went full Throwback Thursday when Madonna sang "Holiday" with classroom instruments. It was like a mini vacation for everyone with festive palm tree shirts all around — except Madonna, who wore fishnets and a black and gold shirt, naturally — and they made sure that everyone was gonna have a celebration in style. For the most part, Madonna didn't play her instruments, though she did have a whistle, a cowbell, and a lot of hand-clapping throughout her performance. She spent her time shimmying, dancing, inventing new moves, and having a good time.

In the history of Jimmy Fallon's classroom instrument videos, all the songs featured have been current except for this one and when Mariah Carey sang "All I Want For Christmas Is You" to get everyone in the holiday spirit. This is also a big moment for Madonna, who has been using all-star musicians in her performances lately. First Taylor Swift playing guitar at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, and now Fallon, Questlove, and The Roots jamming out to one of her biggest hits? She's making some great decisions. However, the best collaboration will always go to her performance with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera. If we can make that happen again in 2015, it will definitely be the year of Madonna. Watch the amazing "Holiday" rendition below.
